Hospitality Management Diploma with Co-op

(12 courses + 480 hour work experience)

This program is offered in collaboration with the ‘American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute”. Widely recognized as the preeminent leader in hospitality certification, the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) certifies hospitality professionals in all facets of the hospitality, hotel and tourism industry.

The 12 course program + Coop is provided via classroom, computer assisted learning, tutoring and applicable activities (ie guest speakers, field trips). The curriculum and training methodology ensures graduates acquire the knowledge, skills and fundamental experience needed work successfully in a range of hospitality/ tourism careers.

  • Academic: 1440 hrs (with co-op)
  • Full-time: 72 weeks

“This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training”.

Learning outcomes

Upon completing all the requirements for graduation students will receive:

  • Hospitality Management Diploma from the College.
  • Hospitality Management Diploma from the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA)
  • Certificate of Specialization for Rooms Division from the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA)

Admission Requirements

  • All applicants should be high school graduates or 18 years or older at the start of the applicant’s program or course;
  • Language proficiency: Evidence of having completed a minimum level of high school graduate English or evidence of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent; [evidence can include an IELTS evaluation, or similar testing assessment to the level which can be closely deemed as equivalence (i.e. TOEFL IBT)] or the student can take the College’s language proficiency exam.

Heath and Safety

The College ensures the health and safety of all staff, students and community by following the official guidelines set out by the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia; local health and safety authorities.

TheCOVID-19 safety and response plans developed by the institution are intended to provide a comprehensive safety plan and support the return of international students. The intent is to mitigate risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The plans apply to domestic and international students; faculty and staff; community and the public; and external contractors.

There are ongoing updates to the regulations regarding entering Canada due to the COVID-19 situation.
